Yoga to strengthen your body and bring stillness to your mind

Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga is so much more than physical exercise, it is a holistic practice encompassing the mind, body and spirit.

The benefits are far-reaching, and a regular Hatha Yoga practice will:

  • improve the strength, balance and flexibility of your body

  • Improve posture

  • reduce stress and anxiety

  • bring stillness to your mind

  • and make you feel wonderful!

Each 90 minute class follows a theme from one of the classical yoga texts. Using this as a base you will gradually prepare your body so that you can achieve the best peak posture on any given day. The practice ends with a guided meditation related to the theme of the class.

Everyone is encouraged to listen to their own body, to do only what is possible for them on any given day, and to overcome the need to judge or compare.

The goal of Yoga from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali 

This verse simply states that the goal of Yoga is the stilling of the mind until it rests in a state of total and utter tranquillity, so that one experiences life as it really is.
